  8.  AB    OBJECTIVE: To assess the effectiveness of drama in disseminating
  9.        AIDS/STD information among in and out of school youths. METHOD: Baseline
  10.        KABP survey on AIDS/STD/ was conducted among sample of in and out of
  11.        school youths in Freetown. Formation of STOP AIDS drama clubs in
  12.        selected schools and implementation of drama performances for youths.
  13.        Collection of data on condom supplies to youths from the AIDS Control
  14.        Programme Secretariat, Family Planning clinics January-December 1993.
  15.        RESULT: Following a series of drama performances on AIDS/STD, the demand
  16.        for condoms among youths increased by over 70% compared to the base line
  17.        figures obtained during the same period 1992. CONCLUSION: Drama is a
  18.        very powerful communication channel through which AIDS/STD education can
  19.        be effectively disseminated among in and out of school youths and helps
  20.        to promote behaviour change.
